SEMEFAB CELEBRATES 2026 STEM AWARD WINNERS
As another academic year ends, Semefab is pleased to continue its longstanding partnership with the three high schools in the Glenrothes area: Glenwood High School, Glenrothes High School and Auchmuty High School.,
Following the sad passing of one of Semefab’s founders, Dr John Bruce, in October 2018, the team at Semefab were determined to continue his legacy and his passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). John was a strong advocate for encouraging young people to pursue STEM subjects and inspiring the next generation to share his enthusiasm for these important fields.
With this in mind, Semefab established a strong partnership with the three Glenrothes high schools to recognise and celebrate the achievements of students studying STEM subjects at Advanced Higher, Higher and National 5 levels.

DR JOHN BRUCE MEMORIAL AWARDS
The Dr John Bruce Memorial Award is presented to sixth-year students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement across STEM subjects. This award holds particular significance for the Semefab family, as it honours our highly respected joint founding Director, Dr John Bruce, whose legacy continues to inspire those within the company and wider community.
SEMEFAB STEM AWARDS
The Semefab STEM Award is presented to fourth-year students who have excelled across the STEM curriculum and reflects Semefab's ongoing commitment to encouraging and supporting young people within Glenrothes schools. The award recognises students at an important stage in their educational journey, helping to foster continued interest and achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2026 WINNERS
Everyone at Semefab would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all of this year’s winners and runners-up. Your commitment to excellence, hard work and enthusiasm for STEM have been exemplary, and you should be extremely proud of everything you have achieved throughout the academic year.
Semefab are proud to support young people in our local community and hope that these awards will encourage the next generation of scientists, engineers, technologists and innovators to continue pursuing their ambitions.
The Semefab team wishes all of this year’s award recipients every success in their future studies and careers.
CONTINUOUS ENGAGEMENT
Semefab’s continued engagement with local schools and partners plays an important role in enhancing the educational experience and opportunities available to young people in the area. This long-term commitment continues to deliver positive outcomes and create opportunities for students to develop their interest in STEM beyond the classroom.
In August 2026, a previous award winner of the Dr John Bruce Memorial Award in 2025, took the next step in their career by embarking on a Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme within Semefab’s Process Engineering Department.
We are particularly proud to see former award recipients progressing into STEM careers and becoming part of the Semefab team. Their journey demonstrates the value of encouraging young people to explore STEM opportunities and highlights the potential career pathways available within the industry.
