We are currently looking for a Facilities Technician to join our experienced Facilities team. The successful candidate should have practical electrical maintenance experience with on the job training provided.

The Role

In this role you will be responsible for reactive and planned maintenance work as part of the facilities engineering team.  You will need to contribute to continuous improvement plans as well as project and installation work. Ideally, but not essential, you will have practical experience of Mechanical, Electrical and Fluid distribution systems, their maintenance and fault finding on those systems.

This a varied role and your duties will include:

  • Managing and executing all daily actions from the maintenance plan to ensure that priorities are achieved whilst maximising equipment efficiency
  • Supporting the maintenance of site facilities
  • Identifying and managing equipment spares
  • Working closely with other departments to support problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Carrying out as and when required inspection, testing and certifying electrical installations are in accordance with the IEE regulations
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Ensuring the use of subcontractors is managed and delivers value to the operation

This is a full-time permanent role, working 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday on day shift. (Monday to Thursday Either 07:30 - 16:00 or 08:30 - 17:15, Friday 7:30/8:30 -13:00)

Standby rota and Callouts

Once basic awareness training has been completed, the candidate will be included in the team’s weekly standby rota to provide cover for out of hours call outs.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Must have practical electrical experience
  • Relevant supplementary qualifications i.e. 18th Edition would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Ability to use own initiative to fault find facilities plant equipment faults
  • Good communication and IT skills.
